Aviation News Item: 00185 28th Oct 2009 FRA to explore the use of geothermal energy Source: ubmaviationnews.com Fraport, the owner of Frankfurt Airport (FRA), is to explore a deep-earth geothermal field near the southern side of the airport as a potential source of energy. The company launched a JV with energy specialist firm D&S Geo Innogy yesterday (October 27). If the exploration is successful, the partners will construct a hybrid power plant, which is to make combined use of geothermal power and biogas to produce electricity and heat. |
