Transport Canada has granted Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) type certification for its PW535E engine. The turbofan was chosen by Embraer in May 2005 to power the Phenom 300 light business jet. The engine rated with a maximum takeoff thrust of 3,360lb is based on the PW535-family of engines that entered service in late 2000. It features full-authority digital engine control (FADEC) and a number of innovations in the turbine and compressor areas.
