Aviation News Item: 00152 6th Nov 2009 GOL to introduce Iridium-based ACARS Source: ubmaviationnews.com Brazils' GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes will introduce the aircraft communications addressing and reporting system (ARCARS), based on the Iridium satellite network, on its aircraft. The system, which will be supplied by Miami, Florida-based Avionica, is to be installed in the carrier's fleet as of January 2010, when the aircraft undergo routine maintenance procedures at the company's maintenance centre in Cofins. |
