Aviation News Item: 00144 10th Nov 2009 CAE wins simulator contracts worth C$55m Source: ubmaviationnews.com CAE has signed contracts valued at approximately C$55m ($52m) at list prices to design and manufacture four full-flight simulators (FFS) and related training devices, and to provide simulator updates and relocations. The Montreal, Canada-based, company has sold a 7000 series 737-800 Level D FFS and a Simfinity 737-800 integrated procedures trainer (IPT) to Malaysian Airlines System (MAS). They will be delivered to the carrier's training centre in Kuala Lumpur and are expected to be ready-for-training toward the end of 2010. Kenya Airways, which is building a new training centre in Nairobi, has bought a 5000 series 737NG FFS and Simfinity virtual maintenance trainers (VMT); these will be delivered in mid-2010. Korean Air has bought a 5000 series Cessna Citation CJ1+ FFS that is to be delivered to the company's pilot training centre on Jeju Island in the second half of 2010. CAE has sold a CAE 7000 Series ATR 72-500 FFS to Mount Cook Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air New Zealand. The simulator will be delivered to Auckland in the first half of 2010. Furthermore, the simulator manufacturer has update and relocation services with Aer Lingus, China Airlines and Finnair Flight Training Center. |
