Honeywell HTF7000 Engine Fleet Passes 500,000 Hour Mark
Source: fly-corporate.com
Honeywell's fleet of HTF7000 engines has accumulated more than 500,000 hours of in-flight operation.
Two of the highest time HTF7000 engines were recently removed from service as a part of Honeywell's "Continued Airworthiness Program" plan, as part of the FAA Threshold Sampling" plan. The plan calls for periodic inspections of the engine and its components in order to validate the "On Condition" maintenance philosophy.
With slightly over 5,000 hours in service, extensive performance checks and borescope inspections were performed on two HTF7000 engines prior to removal. After removal, both engines had incoming test cell evaluations to understand any changes in engine performance over the 5000-plus hours of operation. Both engines were disassembled, and components reviewed by the Honeywell engineers.
