Aviation News Item: 00133 13th Nov 2009 RUAG rolls out Do 228NG Source: ubmaviationnews.com Switzerland-headquartered RUAG Aerospace has rolled out its Do 228NG, the re-launched version of the former Dornier Do 228, at Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich, Germany, yesterday (November 12). The company decided to resume the production of the twin-engine utility turboprop in October 2007. This aircraft is currently built for 19 passengers and equipped with new avionics, a glass cockpit and new five-blade propellers. After successful ground tests the flight test phase is now to commence. Between 1981 and 1998, approximately 270 Dornier Do 228 aircraft were built at the company's factory in Oberpfaffenhofen and, under licence, in India. |
