Aviation News Item: 00127 16th Nov 2009 Mubudala to open composites plant in 12 months Source: ubmaviationnews.com Mubudala Development company has unveiled the site for its composite areo structures manufacturing facility, STRATA, and announced at the Dubai Airshow that it will open in 12 months. By 2012 STRATA will produce flap track fairings, ailerons, spoilers and appendages; September 2010 will see its first delivery - flap track failings to Airbus for the A320 and A330. The first article inspection will take place in Q3 2010. STRATA follows a multi-faceted supplier agreement with EADS and Airbus last year and was a "major milestone for Abu Dhabi in its aspirations to become a leading Manufacturing base for the global aerospace industry," said Homaid Al Shemmari, Director of Mubudala Aerospace.
