Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services (LBAS) has installed and certified the Lufthansa Technik niceview[TM] moving map system on a customer's Learjet 60 XR aircraft. The work took only two days to complete, making the installation of the niceview[TM] components a simple replacement of the existing in-flight entertainment system.
The installation can be easily combined with almost any scheduled inspection, thus avoiding any additional downtime to the charter operation of the aircraft. Panaviatic, based in Tallinn, Estonia, is delighted to be the first operator to offer this groundbreaking system to its customers.
Ken Koort, President of Panaviatic stated: "You need not be a computer afficionado to immediately understand and enjoy the enhanced features which niceview[TM] adds to the pleasurable experience when flying in this fantastic airplane." The aircraft is operated throughout Europe including in Russia and the Baltic States.
Andreas Kaden, LBAS' Managing Director stated: "LBAS provided all the engineering work required to complete the installation, as well as the integration management and the certification of the system. This is further proof that LBAS' engineers are able to perform almost any aircraft modification."
The niceview[TM] moving map system provides worldwide, high-resolution 3D maps and virtual flights designed to create the ultimate flight information and viewing experience for VIP passengers. Integrating the latest flight simulation technology and authentic satellite maps, niceview[TM] offers various photorealistic 2D and 3D views for various infotainment features with resolutions down to one meter per pixel.
The niceview[TM] equipped Learjet 60 XR will be showcased at a variety of exhibitions and marketing activities in the coming months.
The system is available for retrofit into any Learjet 60 XR aircraft currently equipped with a moving map system.
Retrofit options for other Bombardier Business Aircraft models will be available soon.
