Embraer participated in World Environment Day by planting 40 trees of native species at each of its units in Brazil: the Company's corporate headquarters and the Eugênio de Melo and ELEB industrial plants, in São José dos Campos; as well as facilities in the cities of Botucatu, Gavião Peixoto, and Taubaté.
The initiative is part of the Company's celebrations of its 40th anniversary, and was carried out by 40 employees at each unit who have been with the Company the longest. Numerous students of Engineer Juarez Wanderley High School, created and maintained by the Embraer Education and Research Institute, joined staff members in planting another 40 trees at the school.
Embraer also held its fourth internal Environmental Workshop, June 4-5, with representatives from each of its international units in the US, France, Portugal, China, and Singapore, at its headquarters, in Brazil. The annual event provides corporate visibility regarding local environmental activities, and is an opportunity to share the results achieved in each region.
