Aviation News Item: 00118 17th Nov 2009 AFI and Aircelle to build nacelle MRO facility in Dubai Source: ubmaviationnews.com Aerostructures Middle East Services (AMES), a 50:50 JV between Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance and Aircelle, SAFRAN Group, have signed a lease agreement to establish its operating base at Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) in Dubai, UAE. Starting in early 2010, the maintenance centre is to be set up in a 10,000m2 (108,000ft2) facility, where AMES will offer Middle East customers a range of services for nacelles on CFM International, General Electric, Pratt & Whitney and Rolls-Royce engines. The driving factor behind the company is the opportunity to support the Middle East's sizable fleets of 777, A320, A330, A340-500/600 and A380 aircraft. |
