SaxonAir Granted 10-Year Contract at Norwich Airport

Source: fly-corporate.com

Norwich Airport has awarded Private Air Travel company, SaxonAir a 10-year contract as the preferred Handling Agent to supply ground handling services at Norwich Airport for all non-scheduled business, private and general aviation aircraft.

Full planning permission for SaxonAir's new £6 Million Business Aviation Centre at Norwich Airport has gone through, and construction of the new purpose-built facility is already well underway. The new dedicated Business Aviation Centre and apron facility is designed to meet the growing demands of the business aviation market.

'SaxonAir are very proud to have been selected to provide executive ground handling at Norwich International Airport, which underlines our reputation to deliver safe, high quality service at competitive prices,' commented Managing Director, Chris Mace.

Established in 2007, SaxonAir owns and operates a fleet of private jets and VIP helicopters as well as offering both aircraft management and handling services. In recent years it has experienced a 30% increase in the number of movements at Norwich Airport and has handled a wide variety of aircraft.

The ground handling division trades as SaxonAir Flight Support and has already been providing the service over the past eighteen months.

Norwich itself provides one third of Norfolk's jobs and is the largest economy, in terms of employment, in the East of England. It has the largest cluster of financial services in the eastern region and is a major centre for creative/media industries and health and life sciences. Other important business sectors include professional services, retailing, specialised engineering and tourism.

Mike Burrows from Shaping Norfolk's Future said, 'Business and General Aviation services are a critically important part of the offering of an International Airport- providing top end services for people and businesses. This substantial investment by SaxonAir makes it absolutely clear that Norwich and Norfolk is open for business.'
