The first European Registered Embraer Phenom 100 jet landed at Ronaldsway Airport on the Isle of Man after flying from Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Brazilian built private jet is Manx registered with the memorable registration M-INXY and is owned by local company Midland Aviation Limited.
The complex arrangements for the importing, registration and corporate ownership of the new aircraft were all handled by various divisions of the ICM Group including ICM Aviation and Inter-Continental Management Limited.
Launched in May 2007, the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry has attracted over 136 aircraft that now bear the 'M' prefixed registration. Brian Johnson, the Island's first Director of Civil Aviation explained the structure of the register: "Our strategy has always been to offer a cost-neutral service to make the cost of registration and other related services significantly cheaper than those of most other national registers. As a Government initiative this encourages new business and employment opportunities to the Island's banks, legal and insurance firms."
