Aviation News Item: 00110 19th Nov 2009 Spirit opens JV repair station in China Source: ubmaviationnews.com Spirit AeroSystems has formally opened a component repair station in China through a JV with Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company (HAECO) and its subsidiary Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering (TAECO). The Spirit facility, based in Jinjiang, known as Taikoo Spirit AeroSystems (Jinjiang) Composite, is engine nacelle and component repair services for 737NG and 777 aircraft operators across the Asia-Pacific region. The facility is currently in the process of receiving its Civil Aviation Administration of China certification (CAAC). It complements the US firm's North American repair centre in Wichita, Kansas, and its European repair station in Prestwick, Scotland. |
