New Tool Aids Budgeting in Tough Economic Times
Source: fly-corporate.com
Conklin & de Decker have released LIFE CYCLE COST 2009 Volume II. This updated aircraft budget and financial analysis tool is part of the company's family of aircraft operating & acquisition data products. It provides ownership and operating cost data for more than 375 jets, turboprops, helicopters and piston aircraft.
The LIFE CYCLE COST budgeting software combines all aspects of owning and operating an aircraft in one easy-to-use program. Aircraft acquisition costs, operating costs, taxes, the final residual value and even revenues, if it is in commercial operations, are all included in this updated budgeting tool.
New features make the aircraft budgeting process more complete and include: Flight Attendant salary allocation for large cabin jets; the ability to change annual utilization for each year (enabling the user to account for different total hours for each individual year); and the ability to change annual charter hours for each year.
An Expanded Turboprop Database is to include the King Air 350i and an Expanded Piston Database is to include the Cessna 172XP, Cessna 207 and the Cirrus SR22 GTS Turbo. The company continues to research and update all costs in order for the tool to be a benchmark to measure current actual costs against costs such as salaries, fuel costs, hangar fees, insurance, all maintenance costs, and more.
An analysis is generated by choosing an aircraft type from a drop-down menu. The breadth of the analysis can be expanded by selecting different methods of acquisition (lease, finance, purchase, shared & fractional ownership), type of operation (corporate, commercial or managed), and depreciation schedules (5- or 7-year MACRS, straight-line, including a user-defined schedule). Selections made will populate the program with preloaded operating costs as researched by Conklin & de Decker. Pre-loaded costs and assumed flight hour estimates can be edited to modify the analysis to a specific situation and to benchmark users' costs against the Conklin & de Decker costs.
