Canada's holiday travel airline Air Transat has extended the total engine support contract for the CF6-80C2 turbofans, which power its A310 aircraft, with Lufthansa Technik (LHT) for another three years. The contract extension comes into effect immediately. All additional 14 overhauls included in the agreement will be carried out at the MRO company's engine overhaul centre in Hamburg; the first engines are scheduled for March 2010.
