BizAv Plays Role in Clinton North Korea Rescue Trip
Source: fly-corporate.com
Avjet Corporation, an international provider of business aviation, supplied air transportation for former President Bill Clinton on his visit to North Korea on Tuesday.
Mr. Clinton's mission to secure the release of two imprisoned American television journalists brought him to Pyongyang. The former president travelled to the North Korean capital aboard a Boeing Business Jet operated by Avjet, arriving early Tuesday morning local time. Mr. Clinton was greeted at the airport by North Korean officials.
Avjet worked closely with the US State Department to facilitate the travel arrangements.
"We are honoured to have been selected as the global air transportation partner for this historic humanitarian mission," said Andrew C. Bradley, Avjet Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Acquisitions. "Our selection reflects Avjet's uncompromising commitment to security and confidentiality for our client base of VIP travellers, as well as our broad global presence."
The Avjet flight crew consisted of Dale Wheeler, Chief Pilot; John Scheenstra, Lead Captain; Christopher Quick, Boeing Business Jet Captain; Marc Cohen, Boeing Business Jet Captain and attendants Rebeca Ramos and Jamie Weisman.
It has been widely reported that the entire trip was financed by Hollywood mogal and long-time Clinton friend, Stephen Bing, who owned the aircraft.
We wonder what the bizav cynics will say to this
